Education in the Job World

As he bends down, he can smell the rubber from the track. The hot sun beats down on his back. Droplets of clear sweat run down his intense, focused face. As he puts his feet against the blocks, his muscles ripple all the way down to his fingers. As he waits for the crack of the gun, his heart beats faster than ever. On your marks, set, BOOM! The competitors race to the finish line one hundred yards ahead. “Maurice Green wins,” shouts the announcer. Athletes like Green compete for money, wealth, and power. While some of these athletes finish college, too many of them don’t finish college or even high school.
Athletes are not the only celebrities that don’t get their education. Rappers make millions rapping about their childhood and life without school even as an option. You’ve heard of many like 50 Cent, Tupac, and Notorious B.I.G. A lot of actors leave high school for their careers or go onto acting schools. You have also heard of many celebrities that have no college education such as, Paris Hilton and Nichole Richie. Celebrities ho matter what their famous for, make millions of dollars without a college degree.
The average citizen does not have to go to college to make a decent living. In this society, people believe you need a credible college degree to get a supportive job for you and your dependents. In this century, there are so many jobs and so much money that people can earn without having a good education. This is achieved through managing your money well, making smart choices throughout your life, and filling the need for supply and demand.
Managing money is probably one of the most hated things a responsible person does, and yet every successful human knows it is the only way to make it to the top. This painstaking but important task is something that can be taught to anyone willing to try. I’ve known a few people throughout my life that have demonstrated this strength. My father went to college and received a bachelor’s degree in business management. He has started a few little companies throughout his business career. With his schooling he learned how to manage his business and his money. He is one of the most successful business men I know. He’s managed his money well enough to support his business as well as his family. He is one living example that proves anything’s possible if you just put your mind and heart to it.
Smart choices don’t just come to someone overnight. It is instilled into them throughout their whole life, starting when they are very young. People learn from their environment and surroundings, so if they are around elders that teach them to make good decisions, they will most likely make good choices throughout their life. Children are brought up to believe they have to go to college as soon as they are out of high school. Most would think this is one of the smartest career choices they can make, while others believe if you make smart choices without college you can still be well off. Countless numbers of people every year have proven to be successful without obtaining a college degree. Of the three sons my father had, one of them never went to college. When my second oldest brother was getting out of high school, my father was selling one of his companies. My brother didn’t have a certain goal in life or a career picked out. He was attending a few college courses but never had the heart to go. My father decided to sell his carpet cleaning business to my brother. Since then, my brother has paid off the company and brought in so much revenue and new clients throughout a large part northern California. He has become one of the youngest successful men I know. That same brother also received his real estate license a few years back. Since my brother is a people person and makes wise decisions, his ability to sell real estate has helped him start his small fortune. My brother has achieved all of this without obtaining a college degree.
Many people I am acquainted with are in the military. Some of them are very close to me. I have seen so many marines make dumb choices, but have seen a lot of them make smart choices. One of them that makes countless smart choices has had a huge impact on me. When he got out of high school he went straight into the Marine
Corps. Whenever he receives a paycheck he will put most of the money into savings. When he gets bonuses he puts the money into certificates of deposits also known as CD’s, investments, and mutual funds. He will spend money on something that he knows will go up in value and do something better for him in the future. My friend is starting his fortune now and will continue to build on it, even when he gets out of the Marine Corps.
It goes to show whether or not a person strives to obtain a degree or possesses the ability to build his own empire without such an education, can be successful with money management and smart choices. People from all different backgrounds have the chance to be wealthy no matter where they are born or how they are raised. As long as they know what they want and put their heart into it, they can achieve their goal.
